1. HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Go to www.myfbmc.com and click on the link to "register a new account" at the bottom of the page. Fill out the required information (name, email, zip, SSN, and password) to access your account.
2. HOW DO I ORDER PASSES?
After logging in and selecting your SFUSD account, click on the "Accounts" tab at the top of the page and select "MyQTB". The "Order" link should now be visible.
3. WHY CAN'T I LOG INTO THE WEBSITE? If you can't log in then the system, this could be for a number of reasons:
- You are not eligible --> See #3 below.
- The spelling of your name or your address is incorrect -->
Check your paycheck to see what name and address are
on file with SFUSD.
- There are browser compatibility issues --> Try using
Internet Explorer 8, Safari, Firefox, or Google Chrome.
If none of these solves your problem, contact Customer Care at 1-800-342-8017.
4. WHY IS THIS PROGRAM ONLY FOR UESF and UASF MEMBERS and unrepresented employees? Since this is a negotiated benefit, SFUSD can only offer this program by including it in the contract with each bargaining unit. As bargaining for other bargaining units open the district will propose this benefit to their members. Check the WAD for future announcements and contact your rep to push for this program in your new contract.
5. WHICH TYPES OF TRANSIT PASSES ARE COVERED? Pretty much any transit pass you can get in SF, including MUNI, BART, EZRider, Translink, and Golden Gate Transit. A complete list will be available on the website.
6. WHEN DO I GET MY FIRST COMMUTER PASS? The cut-off is always the 10th of each month for benefits starting two months later.
7. WHEN IS THE PAYMENT DEDUCTED FROM MY PAYCHECK?
Two months before you receive your pass. For biweekly employees, the commuter check deduction and fee are taken out at the second pay period of the month.
8. WHY IS THERE A FEE?
When the employee of a business decides to take a pre-tax deduction, the business gets a payroll tax break. Businesses use this tax break to pay the monthly fee for their employees. Since SFUSD does not pay the same payroll tax, the fee has to be covered by the employee. Thanks to our collaboration with the City, however, the $3.15 fee is the lowest in the industry and less than you'll be saving by paying for your commute passes with pre-tax money.
9. HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY BENEFIT?
You can opt to get a commuter check, debit card, or transit passes for your selected transit agencies. If you are signing up for EZRider or TransLink, the value of your deduction will be credited to your card every month in the form of ECash.
10. CAN I PARTICIPATE IF I DON'T NEED A TRANSIT PASS EVERY MONTH? Absolutely. When you establish an online account, you can order passes only in the months when you will need them for commuting to work.
11. CAN I USE THIS BENEFIT FOR BIKE COMMUTE EXPENSES? No. Current IRS rules prevent SFUSD from including bike benefits in a pre-tax benefits program. For more info, see http://www.sfbike.org/?commute. 12. CAN THIS BENEFIT BE USED FOR PARKING EXPENSES? This benefit is available for specific parking garages. A complete list will be available on the website. 13. CAN THIS BENEFIT BE USED TO PAY FOR FAST TRAK OR TOLLS? No. Sorry. IRS regulations prohibit this.
14. CAN I USE MY BENEFIT TO PAY FOR THE TRANSIT PASSES OF FAMILY MEMBERS? Sory, this is also not allowed.
