LIBRARY CLOSED WEDNESDAY,  10/15 – Due to PSAT testing, the library will be closed all day, including during the lunch period. - Bertolucci

SCHEDULE CHANGE THURSDAY, 10/23 TO “A” SCHEDULE.  Due to parent/teacher conferences at the elementary and middle schools, transportation will not be available to high schools.  Therefore, Thursday, 10/23 will not follow the normal “B” schedule but will follow the “A” schedule instead. - Lovrin

PTSA MEETING Wednesday 10/15 in the Cafe. Please join us @ 6:30 for our potluck, business meeting and presentation by the counselors. We will have a breakout session for parents of seniors and juniors. Mark your calendars for our next meeting Nov.14th with a presentation by Safe project on internet safety. - Peterson

PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, 10/15 to all 10th grade students and only 9th and 11th grade students who have elected to take the test.  There will also be a modified schedule for Thursday, 10/16. All students NOT taking the PSAT will report at 11:15am for lunch on Wednesday.  The changes in schedule are as follows:

PSAT will be given at Wash on Wednesday, 10/15.  All 10th grade students are already registered and taking the test.  Other students who want to take the PSAT must sign up in Rm. 114 during lunch or after school.  The fee is $13 and exact change is appreciated. - Fenton

ATTENTION, AP STUDENTS – Fee waiver forms for this year’s AP exams are available NOW in Rm. 115J.  All forms must be completed and returned NO LATER than 10/15.  Fill out only one form regardless of how many AP exams you plan on taking. Completed forms can be put under my office door or in my mailbox in the Counseling Office. – Jacobs

PACT ADVISOR is here every Tuesday and Wednesday in the College Center, Rm. 114 form 8:30-5:00.  Come by and get your college questions answered! –Holbrook

PEER EDUCATOR – Do you want to educate yourself and young women about issues that are important to young females?  Then apply as a Peer Educator through Females Against Violence.  Go through 8 weeks of training and give 3 presentations.  At the end, you’ll get $250. – Mary

SENIORS – CLASS OF 2009

JOSTENS WILL BE HERE Thursday, 10/16 and Friday, 10/17 to take Cap and Gown orders.  Make sure to do so!  If you miss these dates, the price will go up! - Brinton

SENIORS WITH A 3.0-3.7 GPA!  If you want to visit UC Berkeley and get information, see the dorms, meet professors, etc., then apply for “Get the Urge ’08.”  Seniors will be chosen to attend a retreat at UC Berkeley on Friday, 10/24.  No transportation provided.  Applications due by Tuesday 10/14. - Fenton

MERITUS SCHOLARSHIP – Apply for the Meritus Scholarship and receive $3000 a year for four years of college.  Applicants must have between a 3.0-3.7 GPA and demonstrate financial need.  Applications are due by Feb. 13, 2009 and available in 114 or at www.meritusfund.org. - Fenton

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN MEDICINE AND SCIENCE?  UCSF wants you to join Medlink.  This program pairs you with a mentor and will introduce you to medically related science workshops.  Applications are due Monday, 10/20 and are available in Rm. 114. - Fenton

PHONE BANK – I hope everyone will sign up to phone bank/precinct walk for UESF endorsed candidates for the SF School Board.  We did a great job last spring for Prop A.  If we get enough staff, we can phone bank locally (Zephyr Café?).  I picked TODAY starting at 5pm.  Sign up near the sign-in book.  We need everyone. - Kozak
