About Student Government

The George Washington’s Student Government,
also known as the Leadership class, coordinates many events for the
school. From organizing school dances to raising school spirit, the
members of Student Government are dedicated to making change in the school and
promoting school events for the students. Student Government is separated into two sections: executive board (Associated
Student Body) and class board. Executive board consists of nine officers
who are responsible for planning school-wide events, addressing any
issue that may affect or concern the student body and is a liaison for
students between the administrators of Washington and SFUSD. The
class board consists of thirty-six officers (nine per class).
Each class is responsible for planning activities and fundraisers to
raise money for costly events such as Winterball, prom and graduation.
The class officers also assist executive board in promoting any school events.
Together with the Student Advisor, Mr. Charles Brinton, Student
Government works hard to make a difference in the school!
